Midwest Rose
Midwest Rose Photo Stock is a webstore that Miranda Hladik created. Originally it began with primarily digital photographs. Overtime, the store expanded on its products to print photographs and greeting cards. As the owner of the store, she would not only design the website, but the logo and other assets as well.
Advertisements
One crucial marketing tactic for any business is advertising. As such, Miranda would create advertisements promoting the webstore. All photographic assets are from photographs that she herself have taken. For the Fall Harvest Sale Advertisement, she created her own vector graphic to match the pumpkin below along with highlighting the text inside.
Client Design Exercises
One project Miranda had worked on recently would be a Skills Test for Stream Companies. She was tasked on creating one logo, a post card, and two advertisements for one event; a Red, White, and New Sales Event for Nissan 24.
Custom Designs
Along with custom greeting cards, Miranda has received requests for creating custom designs including logos and other graphics.
Greeting Cards
Later down the road of small business ownership, Miranda decided to create greeting cards. What started out as an experiment on what she can create with her knowledge in graphic design and her interest in creative writing turned into a new product for her small business.
Each card has a different initial concept process, but they all have the same structural process throughout the design process. For instance, for most of the cards she designed such as the First Birthday Calf, the Mother's Day Rose, and the Cow Birthday, She was looking for photographic bases that would be ideal for the occasion of the card she would be making. As for the Squirrel Birthday, she came across the photograph and thought it would make a great birthday card. Afterwards, she would stylize each image, then create text that would match each image and occasion. For heartfelt cards, she would write a message that she would say for that for directed person. As of now, all of the assets used for the cards are photographs that Miranda herself have taken and sell on Midwest Rose, though she is looking into creating her own hand drawn assets in the future.
Custom Greeting Cards
Shortly after the introduction of greeting cards, Miranda started receiving orders for custom made greeting cards. Each client would be asked questions on what occasion the cards were for, what imagery and themes they would like incorporated, and any specifics for what they would like embedded in the text. she would then use the same process as the greeting card creation process, but translate their notes through one concise and poetic message that would match their overall perspective.
